The red light above the operation theatre remained lit, each passing second stretching into what felt like an eternity. Nani sat with her jaapmala clutched tightly in trembling hands, silently praying.  Tears slipping down Anjali's cheeks despite her attempts to remain composed.  Akash paced the corridor endlessly, stopping every few moments to glance anxiously with teary eyes and trembling hands at the ICU doors.
